Hushpak Products & Services
At Hushpak, we know that complying with workplace noise requirements can be challenging, especially in facilities where equipment generates high intensity noise. We work closely with customers to monitor, analyse and define their noise problem, and assess and evaluate options to ensure we achieve the greatest noise reduction.
We help customers implement noise-control strategies. First, we interrogate a noisy environment to understand the problem and underlying issues. Then we manage the design, manufacture and installation of noise control solutions to ensure project milestones are achieved. Our comprehensive services also include product selection, budgeting, tender submission and project planning. Finally, we implement the most effective solution, considering other factors such as ventilation, maintenance and safe access to ensure we don’t compromise operations or impact the health and safety of workers.
Noise Control
Our knowledge of noise propagation, acoustic monitoring, vehicle operating scenarios and mining, together with our technical expertise and engineering analysis, enables us to solve your noise or compliance problem at the source. We know off the shelf products aren’t always effective, can impact on performance and incur additional installation time, equipment and cost, so we customise and purpose-build solutions, manufacture replacement parts and can recondition equipment to achieve the best noise suppression for your situation. We reduce noise with minimal equipment installation that costs a fraction of the price of many traditional noise control solutions.
Mobile Machinery Source Attenuation
Hushpak designs and manufactures sound attenuation kits including exhausts, muffler systems, acoustic louvres and fans. We also have dozer attenuation kits, including idler wheel treatment and grouser dampers, that reduce undercarriage noise by up to 6 dB(A).
Dozer Attenuation Packages (or dozer kits) address the numerous operating scenarios that generate track noise. To date, we have reduced dozer undercarriage noise by up to 6 db(A). Noise attenuation packages are also available to treat exhaust, engine bay and cabin noise.
Muffler and Exhaust Systems are custom designed to provide optimum noise suppression without compromising engine efficiency, restricting exhaust backpressure or increasing exhaust emissions. Hushpak’s muffler and exhaust packages achieve noise reduction without causing problems associated with exhaust backpressure such as loss of power, increased fuel consumption and increased exhaust emissions. Hushpak has an unrivaled reputation for successful noise control with minimal equipment installation, lower cost and without causing high exhaust backpressure.
Enclosures and Barriers
Hushpak custom designs solutions that attenuate or absorb sound and vibration caused by conveyor systems, equipment, processes or machinery. Our patented acoustic cladding (HushClad) and fencing (HushPanel) products are manufactured from Colorbond steel. With STC 25 or STC 28, they provide superior noise reduction for industry and road traffic noise.
Acoustic Panels and Enclosures attenuate and absorb sound and vibration. Enclosures have been designed for a range of mobile machines and can be customised to suit specific equipment. Existing enclosures can also be upgraded to further improve noise attenuation.
Acoustic Fans and Louvres are designed and installed to incorporate low air resistance with aerodynamics, to minimise sound emissions whilst ensuring appropriate air flow and ventilation. Hushpak fans and louvres are usually custom built for specific applications.
Acoustic Testing
We conduct noise modelling, assessment of machinery sound power levels, noise source measurement, sound intensity and discrete frequency analysis. We follow international standards for dynamic and stationary test conditions when evaluating noise impacts of earth-moving machinery.
Workplace Noise
We know how noisy some equipment or plant can be, and how sensitive the noise problem can be to a workplace or community. We have experience in design, redesign, supply and manufacture of noise attenuation systems to ensure compliance. Our extensive knowledge and experience includes measuring, assessing, understanding and predicting noise levels and conducting occupational noise analysis.
Design and Manufacture
Our strong R&D focus ensures we keep abreast of new sound attenuation products and acoustic materials. We comply with international standards and use the latest software and acoustic equipment to conduct noise assessments. Our strict quality control procedures ensure high quality products are designed and manufactured in our Newcastle facility.

Michael Neville
Michael has more than 30 years’ broad experience in design, manufacturing, project management, risk management and business management. As Managing Director of Hushpak, his primary focus is on achieving world-class technology driven solutions that address and solve real business issues pertaining to noise and workplace atmospheres. Michael is also responsible for The Advitech Group’s quality management system, which is accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015.
